This lovely couple wanted a set of wedding invitations that really reflected their own style and personality with no unnecessary bells and whistles. Taking cues from their rustic reception venue, a simple drawing was created to introduce guests to the unique wedding location at Somerset Dam. The image was printed on pinstripe embossed paper to mimic the corrugated iron cladding of the hall. Rounded corner detail, baker’s twine and bright yellow envelopes complete the handmade and budget friendly invitations.
As they had many friends and family overseas, the bride came up with a great idea to include paper-chain dolls and crayons with the invitations so that people could draw themselves and bring the dolls along to the wedding or send in their place if they couldn’t be there in person. All the guests had fun creatively decorating the dolls and guessing who’s who.
